This is just a place to post the images I paint and draw. Sometimes they sell, sometimes they don't, and that is okay. I do not create the images I do for others to like. I create what I want, and what speaks to me. An artist should never create what they think will sell, but what comes out instinctively. Just make what speaks to you, stay true to yourself. Recognition arrives when it arrives.

Some of my work stems from investigations into the darker side of human nature, some into the tragedy of ages past, and some from the perspective of faith, and some is simply for pure enjoyment. It's a mixed bag, but almost always based in figurative works and portraiture. My work is heavily influenced by the Renaissance masters and Realism of both the past and from contemporary artists.

When not doing my thing at my studio, I am either getting work into a show or teaching. I teach art both privately and as part of the faculty at a small university in the Midwest. I teach two-dimensional and three-dimensional design/printing, graphic design, illustration, ceramics, sculpture, art history, oversee the student gallery, advise, inventory, fix stuff and do whatever is needed to keep things moving forward.

I do not engage in social media in the capacity many do. I am not on Instagram, X, Snapchat, Tik Tok, or any of that nonsense. My opinions of such places are pretty low. I do have a Facebook page to check in on family and friends, and a Pinterest page where I collect and catalog images for my students to access.
